As Janet says, Ransome named Lottie Blossom after a Wodehouse character; it ws an intentional compliment and he informed Wodehouse of this, and got a very nice letter back from PG.
It's always struck me how different PM was from the other books. Very much light social comedy and, now you mention it, with a distinctive Wodehousian feel.
