The start of CITN has the Broads overrun with visitors - I wonder how the visitor numbers there really held up during the 1930s ? This was a time when a whole series of narrow gauge railways depending on the summer tourist trade, such as the Lynton & Barnstaple in Devon, Leek & Manifold in Staffs, various Welsh lines, and nearer to the Broads, the Southwold in Suffolk - all closed down due to reduced traffic.
