Help! I can't even find the reference to the Big Five in the text. Along
these same lines further (farther?) down Tarboard there is a thread titled
"sailing terms" referring to "in irons". I thought that the probable
places to find this reference would be in Coot Club where the D's start
to learn to sail or in The Picts and The Martyrs where they take
delivery of Scarab. In the latter there is a description of them falling
into irons except that the words aren't there (presumably because the
D's don't know the terminology). I wonder if there is anyone (Tim?) who
is, shall we say, more technologically qualified to search for this, who
has had a go as I for one am prepared to give up.
