Quite excellent, I thought.

The (archive) interviews with Taqui and Mavis/Titty Altounyan were so good to see. You got a real feel for their considerable characters. I'm not sure where they were from. The footage of AR in Russia comes from Pathe News and can be downloaded for free, although if free you have to accept a 'Pathe News' overprint. Just go to the site and search for 'Arthur Ransome'; it's that simple. It's a great library, and there is wonderful stuff there anyway. The sound stories have sound on them (although the AR footage is mute, and in the programme they used almost every last frame that includes AR).

Also good to see the Kelsall-Smith brothers, and have the story of the Hollywoods. Nothing that keen AR fans don't know already, but a very decent show indeed. If you missed it, and you have a British IP address, get it from the BBC iPlayer. It's more than worth it. And if you don't live in Britain, then see if a British friend has downloaded it from the iPlayer... And could pass it to you. As a BBC pensioner I shouldn't suggest these things but...
