Peter - I think I can offer an explanation. You may have somehow crossed the mental wires with the 'Rawdon Smith sisters', ie Georgina and Pauline, who were friends of the Collingwoods, and claimed to be the visual inspiration for the Amazons. Pauline, ie the late Pauline Marshall, did not like using the middle name 'Rawdon'. She thought it a bit 'affected'. How like Peggy !
