Essex, Suffolk, and Norfolk are all close enough together on the east coast to be lumped into one when
compared with the Lakes District, on the other side of the country and right up towards Scotland.
Humph! From the north west corner of Norfolk to the south east corner of Westmoreland is less than twice the distance from the southern edge of Essex to the northern tip of Norfolk. Norfolk folk also speak a different dialect of English to Essex folk.
