AR mixed in details from his own childhood with the 1930s, so it's not inconceivable that he could have kitted out the Ss,
As and Ds with a variety of timepieces. I rather see John with a pocket watch (perhaps formerly used by his father) while
Nancy would be wearing a smart wrist watch.

It's worth remembering that both wrist watches and pocket watches were relatively expensive items in 1929. £1 then had
