Yes, I thought that the date was too late, but I wasn't sure when the Far Distant Oxus was published.
Another candidate is the Canoe Paddle Song which my Canadian Guide daughter used to sing, its chorus is something like "Dip, dip and swing" repeated several times. But again I don't know when it was composed.
