I am surprisd no one has mentioned that the folk tales collected by Ransome are being broadcast on Radio 4 (BBC) every day this week. They can probably be accessed by the listen again service if you go to BBCi.
I have also been reading a library book, by the TV presenter Griff Rhys Jones, called 'To the Baltic with Bob'. It includes several references to AR as Griff is a bit of an AR fan as well as being a sailing nut. Most of the comments relate to Racundra and the Estonian islands but there are also mentions of Ransome's east coast stories, which is where his yacht, Undina, sets sail from. He captures the flavour of cruising very well, including those many niggles and inconveniances which would dampen the enthusiasm of many, before they have even started!

Merry Christmas to AR fans everywhere.

Andy Clayton.
