Absolutely correct.
It seems that some TarBoarders call the ground floor of a house the 'first floor', and the first floor the 'second floor'.
Perhaps it is time to give 'Beckfoot layout' another spin?
"Landing" to me doesn't imply it's right at the top of the stairs.
A landing, I think, always has a staircase leading down from it, but in a large house it may also form the base for
another staircase running up to the next landing, and so on.
