To read what an ex-BBC producer has to say is fascinating. I have a great interest in how drama and documentaries are filmed. One question, however, that I have been yearning to ask a TV person is: why, in all current TV dramas and documentaries, are the shots so brief? The camera angle changes every 4-5 seconds. After 5 minutes of this, I reel back from the screen. I long to get on the set and screw down all the cameras so that they can't move, and then get all the cast to move in front of the cameras, just like the old days. Nice long shots - 30 seconds minimum each. And why is there so much "Lord - Privy - Seal" stuff? (Peter C will know what I mean). Sorry, Peter, but I had to get all this off my chest!
