My 1979 Puffin edition has a yellow cover as well. Apparently the first Puffin edition was in 1970, but according to Robert Thompson's web page it had a yellow cover - see the Literary Pages on All Things Ransome for a link.
BTW the blue isn't uniform either - Coot Club has a very light greyish blue, Missee Lee has a lighter but blue cover, and so forth.
