This is by far and away the best behaved board I have ever used. I think one could reasonably expect this given the subject matter but, in my experience, even subjects as seemingly benign as British archaeology or vintage cars have produced more unpleasantness and rancour on public forums than I have yet to see on this board. Constant references to perceived slights from way-back-when do seem a little unwarranted and a tad tiresome.
I’m sure I’m not the first person to come up with the analogy that posting on a forum is rather like driving a car – people often behave towards other road users in ways they would never dream of behaving when face to face with the same individual. My guess is that if Jock and Peter ever met face to face they’d be surprised at how well they got along. How about a truce? – very AR...
