The Soong Sisters were to China as the Mitford sisters were to contemporary Britain, "only more so"! Highly intelligent, very literary and highly (and diversely) political!

Jung Chang's effort is a bit dry and hagiographical; Sterling Segrave's "The Soong Dynasty" is a staple of airport literature. Both agree with AR in thinking very highly of Ching Ling and very badly of the rest of her family.

(I had my arm twisted into finally joining TARS - thank you Ted and Brian!)
