Kendal Mint Cake is not as creamy as York Peppermint patties, and it's missing the all-important dark chocolate cover. It crumbles a bit as you bite, is very sweet & very minty. My mother read about Sir Edmund Hillary carrying it up Mt. Everest, and many years ago, a small but intrepid group of mountain climbers struggled to the top of Olallie Butte, OR (not quite as tall as Everest). We all ate ceremonious tiny nibbles off a bar of Kendal Mint Cake & had a photo op, just to prove we had conquered the mountain!
An adventure in the style of the S, A & D's :-) I had forgotten that until you mentioned mint cakes.... wish I had the old photo.
