Just as a general observation: age and size do not necessarily correlate,
especially when you're talking about two different families (Peggy in
relation to Susan). Perhaps Peggy is just more petite than Susan. My
own little Amazons are MUCH bigger than many friends the same age - both
are in the 95th percentile for both height and weight!
I agree, there are some inconsistencies as to age, but AR had to keep them
from getting TOO grown-up too fast! Plus, he had to age Bridget quite a
bit to get her into the story in a meaningful way. You see it all the
time in American soap operas (not that I watch soap operas or anything).
