The point I was making (as indeed Andy has already done) is that the photos on their own couldn't really prove anything much at all; just that Great Northerns nest somewhere -- which could be reasonably assumed by anyone with two brain cells to rattle together.
Some additional corroborative evidence is needed, but there is no mention of the requirement for any (let alone what it might consist of) in the book.
