with that dreadful word "like" appearing three or four times in a single (incomplete)sentence.
Gosh, only four times? When I were a lad and me and my mates all wanted to be Charlie Parker, it was, like, important to say 'like' every three, like, words. And of course we all wanted to live on 52nd Street and spend our nights at Mintons.
Trouble is, we actually lived in Edith Grove, off Fulham Road, and it was only later that we realised that the Rolling Stones were living opposite. And anyway we were jazzers, not rockers.
Ah, youth.
But it did have its moments.
