it's less than half a mile North North East of Bank Ground Farm. You may have driven past it going back to BGF from Ambleside or Hawkshead, if you used the little short-cut road between the Hawkshead-Coniston village Road and the road on the east side of the lake. So it's about 300 yards east of Monk Coniston car park, where we launched Ealasaidh Mhairi when you were here last, and the view is taken from the west shore near the head of the lake.
There are other Atkinson's Grounds in the Lakes, such as across the ford near the Three Shires Inn in Little Langdale, but with all the other local connections this must be a front runner to have given its name in PP.
