While Godine used plates from Jonathan Cape, did the errors occur in the original Cape hardback editions? The pages in my SD TOC (Cape hbk, 28th impression 1968) are correct. So if Godine used the plates from Cape, when (and how) did the error occur?

And Lippincott was the original US publisher, of Swallows and Amazons at least. I think the books would have had to have been published in the USA or Canada to safeguard copyright, as America was not a signatory to international copyright conventions, just to a Pan American convention including Canada.
