I don't think so, I think the great deforestation happened before naval expansion. Plus ship building only uses certain types of timber anyway. I think it started when the population was expanding pre black death. Also warships tened to lasta long time and re-use quite a lot of wood. But then some non-ship wood would have been used for fittings and in furnaces etc

I may be wrong on this so if anyone knows better I shall happily stand corrected.
