Only locally grown potatoes or turnips would be used, to cut down on food miles and unnecessary carbon dioxide emissions. Or perhaps just rubber stamps, as rubber is a biodegradable material.

I suppose some people think that leaving plastic non-biodegradable boxes in a National Park area is not a good idea - and they are therefore more likely to be removed. I was thinking of a tin which would eventually rust away, though leaving pile of ferrous oxide, or perhaps best a wooden box. It may be that these would need to be renewed every few years.
