Chaps!!!! You've put a large smile on my face with these comments about Mirrors and the spirit of Mirrors. You have no idea of the furore that we managed to create a couple of years back by suggesting on the UK Mirror forum that the spangly new MKIII Mirror - which is, for them, extremely exciting - looks like a plastic washtub (inspired description - not mine sadly) and bemoaning the passing of such fripperies as rowlocks. We made the case that the original Mirror was charming and attractive in it's versatility and character, and if they were aiming for the racing crowd these days then they'd better square up for a lot of competition, from arguably better-suited and more racy boats. Many, many posts later we gave up, but, to give them their due, recent news items on their site suggest they did indeed hear what we were saying. We'll see.

Sorry!!!!! To bring this back in a Ransomesque direction, I'm wondering whether more Ransome fans have owned Mirrors than any other boat? Great for young pirates, perfect for exploring and I've always thought the spirit of the boat was very AR. We have an amazing amount of fun in ours, even if it is a plywood box with an old-fashioned gunter rig ;-)

Cheers
Luke
