you could try emailing the name of the curator given on the website - Stuart Ross. The email address to contact for jobs is given as info@abbothall.org.uk but that sounds a pretty generic one to me, so they should be able to forward an email to Stuart if it is still him. I think he is based at Blackwell which is closest to the Steamboat Museum. If you have a car or are willing to walk then you could arrange to meet him maybe.
John - the museum shut a couple of years ago pending funding for some major restoration work. Most of the boats are stored in a giant tent in the car park, out of water. Amazon has gone to the Ruskin Museum in Coniston, and Cochy is looked after by St Anne's school on behalf of TARS.
