Perhaps those of you who have taken this thread less than seriously would like to ponder on this for a moment - think of the person who means most to you in the world and think of them dead due to the carelessness, crassness and stupidity of others. OK got that. Now think of your so-called humorous remarks in response to this thread.
Why my annoyance? When I was seven years old my ten year old brother was knocked off his bicycle and killed. Thoughts of him nearly fifty years on still bring me to tears. As a driver now, not a good one, my prime concern is to try and be safe. Sometimes I fail, but the idea that I may be careless enough to kill someone is not far from my mind.
Yes, some inventions of the tabloid press regarding health and safety may seem silly; but most of these things are for a purpose. Yes our generation of parents took risks with us, mine did. With my brother it didn't work, with me it did. My mother never got over his death.
So think again next time you beleive you have something witty to say.
