All Things Ransome has just put up a new section called Ransome Readers Recommend. This section consists of short reviews and recommendations by Ransome readers (i.e. people like ourselves who read and enjoy Ransome's books) of books which they feel would be enjoyed by other Ransome readers worldwide.

The title and most of the original content comes from a regular column in the TARS U.S. newsletter Signals from TARSUS which ran for several years and had a number of contributions, largely from American TARS and largely as a result of works of American authors. Thus there are no reviews of books by e.g. Seville, Selincourt, Whitlock & Hull – or other authors frequently mentioned by Tarboard contributors from the U.K.

We are actively soliciting short reviews and recommendations, from other Ransome enthusiasts around the world, of their favorite books which they feel would appeal to other Ransomeites; we hope to see Ransome Readers Recommend become a real resource for those who want to find more works which somehow capture the spirit of Ransome.

The index to the section at Ransome Readers Recommend will offer a bit more information on what we're looking for in addition to a list and links of the reviews available so far.

Please consider contributing a review and recommendation for your favorite book(s) if it, or they, aren't already represented.

Thanks,

Dave Thewlis
