This is all very nostalgic and interesting and all that but it doesn't answer the serious trivia question (can trivia be serious?) of why Dot thought 6/8d was the correct sum for a lawyer's fee. The fact that it is a third of a pound seems significant but doesn't explain the connection, in Dorothea's mind at least with the law? Is it anything to do with Shakespear?
