Alex Forbes doesn't want to carry on, but perhaps you do?

So I'll address both of you.

I am not concerned with "political correctness" or "censorship" or "slippery slopes to Nazism".

I do not want a child to go into a bookshop or a public library or a school library, start reading Ransome, identify with the characters, start thinking about sailing, bird watching, fishing and camping and then suddenly find one of the characters calling people like him or her "nigger", or "picanninny".

All the Literary Executors have to do to prevent this is to change three words in future editions.

This does not seem to me to have anything to do with "political correctness", or to open the door to censorship, the return of the Nazis, etc. It seems to me to be common sense.
