Dave is right. It is much easier to mow in cursive script. Uppercase letters would be a nightmare. I know this because a few years ago we tried it out in Jim Andrews's garden. Jim let his grass grow long, and we each tried a "no go" with a Ransomes mower. An 'adjudicator' sat on the highest step ladder we could find. The difficulty is that you can't see what you are "writing", although this improves with practice. Looking at the drawing in PM, Nancy must have had a fair bit of practice !
