Yes, it has dawned on me that some Africans might read AR's books and read these posts.
And no, it never occurred to me that they are different from us.
'Africans' including those who were born and brought up in Britain, are different from white people, because of their lifelong experience of prejudice here. That changes people, sometimes kills them. And it's the reason that laws have been passed, and sensitivities have grown.
