Many thanks for that detailed description of the process, Ed. I had a friend as a kid who was into just this, using the Brownie Box cameras we all had in those days, complete with rolls of 8-exposure 620 film. But although I was never really interested enough to become involved myself, it's nice to hear about the process in detail now.

The question of Dick's camera was dealt with here perhaps two or three years ago, to everyone's satisfaction at the time. We even found a photo of it somewhere and posted a link to it. I can't now remember the make, but it was a "flat-pack" affair, about 6" x 3", with bellows like a concertina that opened up on rails to carry the lens out away from the film when in use. (The film itself was indeed roll film, and Dick was always worried that he'd forget to wind it on ready for the next exposure.) The camera had a small triangular prism viewfinder attached at the front of the bellows next to the lens, which folded away when the camera was being closed after use.

I'm sorry I can't help further. Maybe someone with sufficient time will search the archives to see if they can find the thread.
