It appears that Mrs. Dixon's famous toffee (molasses) is to blame for the downward spiral into substance dependence of the local sheep. This week's Westmorland Gazette reports that molasses has been used on icy road surfaces instead of gritting salt, resulting not only in very sticky vehicle tyres but also in the unusual sight of local sheep licking the road surface. One hopes that such unfortunates will be provided for in the way of special "sheep disorder" clinics to help them kick the habit.
