The first time I saw 'Or course' I thought it was just a typo, but then it appeared a few other times and it got me wondering if it was intentional, some sort of dialect or weird English phraseology.

Or course, really, it was going to be morning, not evening, and the returning native was Mrs. Barrable, and not an aged man.
