I think it was the second version (1970) of "The Railway Children" that featured Lionel Jeffries as the station-maaster. IMHO, he overacted and came off rather like a clown. But, according to Wikipedia, he was the writer and director of the 1970 version. NOthing about his acting in it or any other version. There was a movie version of "Five Children and It", but to my knowledge, none of her other novels have been filmed. I think this is too bad because in today's climate of fantasy and magic, some of her works, such as The "Enchanted Castle" and "Wet Magic" would be wonderful. If Nesbit's novels have been popular, why don't they make movie version of more of the SA series? But I think I already know the answer.
