I have just finished it today.

I found it a great insight into AR not to mention learning a whole lot
about the Russian Revolution, of which before I only knew the basic facts.

My feelings about AR were mixed, he seemed at times to be a somewhat selfish fellow, and did not seem to treat his only child with great sympathy. A reverse of the Uncle Jim alter ego.

During the Revolution he played both sides to get the best advantage to himself.

He appears to have been well liked by all that met him but he was also quite insecure at times.

I really enjoyed the book as it covered a side which is quite different from the S&A years which has been covered by many books.

I am sure others who are better informed than myself will give a more detailed critique.
