Last night I saw the latest (at least here in British Columbia) episode of Britain from Above narrated by Andrew Marr. Part of the program was dedicated to the Norfolk Broads and I was finally able to see the scale and features of one of AR's favourite places. Barton Broad was particularly well shown. I wasn't aware that the Broads were created by medieval peat-diggers. Later, the diggings were connected by rivers giving us what we now have. So, it appears that the Broads were man-made and not natural at all. Most intriguing program.
