I hope this isn't too huge a request, but could someone who knows the English school schedule post a rough example of a typical school year, i.e. the various holidays and dates? I heard early on that it's very different from the typical US school schedule, and thus have always had a sort of low-level mental "static", while reading the various books, as I try and translate my intuitive knowledge of the US school holidays into a completely unknown system. Is winter break the two weeks we have here? Is summer break the mid-June through early-September bliss that I grew up with? I just don't know.
Any enlightenment would be appreciated.
