Yes Woll. That is what I was getting at when I wondered if it was a reason for its (?hasty) replacement in Chapter 15 by the side elevation and plan of Scarab. Kirsty Cochrane's essay describes how AR generally showed the scene over the shoulders of his characters though one notable exception is loading Captain Flint's shoulders in SD with Nancy facing the viewer. The scene is a view of jetty from alongside looking at The Amazons, Ds and boatbuilder who are preparing the floating Scarab.
