Well unlike Peter I liked Coot Club better than Big Six in the videos - perhaps
this is because I did not remember much about Coot Club the book, while BS was
one of my favourites as a child. Not that it matter much since my kids
love both videos (aged 5 and 3). They are very well done and a great introduction
to AR - although it was Swallows and Amazons the movie that first caught their
attention (we are currently half way through reading Peter Duck to the 5 year old)
I heartily recommend both videos to everyone - they make a great change from the
usual video fair for children of Disney and Barney. It did my heart good to see
my 5 year old tacking down the hill last week just like Roger does at the start
of S&A. A better investment you can not make (other than buying the books )

Not having grown up in England during the 30s I can not say how authentic they are
but they certainly maintain the atmosphere and feel that I get from the books.
And interestingly enough, the adults that have watched Coot Club with us have
all quite liked Port and Starboard, and been disappointed not to find them in
Big Six.

Mark
