Beck Leven Foot could not be Beckfoot for two good and one half-good reasons -- The Amazon was a river not just a beck (actually the River Crake, not Beck Leven.) Also the Crake flows out of the Lake, whereas the Amazon flows into it -- therefore the house would have to be Beck Leven Head if it's on the lake edge.
