There are so many "levels" of intellegence work. The traditional "cloak and dagger" types are the best known. The type of work I did in Germany in the '50's was more mundane, yet we were still "spies" and would have been very valuable to the other side if captured. We were not all James Bond types.

From the discussions on this board, we may really never know the full extant of Mr. Ransome's contribution to the intellegence gathering of that period.
