Slipping in here to correct one detail: the river is the Columbia River; it does run through the Columbia River Gorge, and there is a town called Hood River. Since I live in Portland, which is just west of the Gorge, I want to be sure we are represented correctly. And to welcome anyone interested in seeing or trying windsurfing to come visit--we'll help you get to all the lovely scenic spots near our fair city!
