Mark, you're quite right about it being big enough to camp there (I haven't but I have
talked to people that have). It's also worth remembering the question of size for children --
consider that at in viewing Roger Wardale's "first choice" as a location for Swallowdale that
you have to remember seeing it as a child rather than an adult. I'm not sure how far to take
the question of relative or apparent size, but clearly imagination can help. I have no problem
with seeing Peel Island as Wild Cat Island. What to me seemed missing was the Lookout Tree
(two were planted by TARS several years ago) and perhaps a couple of missing elevations, and I
can readily see where those could have been borrowed from Blake Holme (although I've never been
to Blake Holme).

Having said that, the make available at the Windermere Steam Boat Musem "Arthur Ransome in Lakeland"
has Blake Holme marked as "Wild Cat Island" and Peel Island marked as "Secret Harbour" so there are
definitely those who agree with the alternate hypothesis.
