I quite agree with the pleasure of reading one of the books while "doing" the same activities. This summer my sister and I read WDMTGTS to each other in the evenings as I introduced her to sailing at sea for the first time. Granted that we were on the SW coast of England rather than the E, but so much of what we read in the evenings was what we'd been experiencing during the day, whether it was systems of buoyage, charts, or feelings of seasickness (we almost found Susan's groans too close to the bone after a particularly uncomfortable rolly passage!).
