Please think again about putting a later dust-wrapper on an older book - there have been so many problems in the book trade and in collecting circles. The only first edition Peter Duck currently for sale on the Internet has the wrong wrapper, while the only Swallows and Amazons first has a 1949 wrapper - 19 years too late.
I hasten to say that I am sure you have no intent to deceive, but in the case of, heaven forbid, your passing on and your collection being sold there would exist a first PM with a later wrapper. An unsuspecting buyer might believe he were acquiring a genuine first. I do feel the same about colour-photocopied dust-wrappers. In any case, it takes all the fun and excitement out of searching for elusive books.
There are cheap enough books with wrappers for sale on the net - Advanced Book Exchange
has dozens. Incidentally, I do have a spare PM wrapper - for anyone who genuinely has a 1964 edition. (I rescued it from a 1943 first edition!)
I do wish you well in your search, though - how about a second set with wrappers? (You did say some were becoming tatty!)
