To Alan Truelove and Peter Roche. Yes, George had a giant bungalow (it's called 'Heronby', if you're passing) between Wroxham and its Broad. A beautiful place with gardens, a stream and its own dyke. I once strummed my ukulele in the house, hoping that he might join me in ghosty 'duelling banjos', but to no avail. Property blighted in recent years by the constant threat of an enormous concrete by-pass over the Bure (now, hopefully abandoned). George never used the house apparently. When he was down there, appearing in Great Yarmouth, he preferred to live on 'Beryl' in Windboats Yard, where he had a telephone on a long wire installed on the boat for the duration!

Jon - yes, tell us more about your Lakes Club proposals!
