I've always found PD implausible, the neo-realistic scenes in Lowestoft and the blue water
sailing, far from the reach of civilisation and parents, just do not fit well together.AR's 'story-within-a-story' might work for some. But for me the double 'suspension of
disbelief' makes PD (and ML too) a difficult book.
