Sixteen year olds sail alone around the world, so a crossing of the channel is not that unbelievable.
tehy had dropped the ancor, otherwise I am sure that is what they would have done.
John's idea to get outside and stay outside is in my humble opinion the correct one. Having been outside in a big blow his idea of running is a good one.
