I was very interested in your comments about PM as it is one of the books that I return to again and again. I don't know whether you have read Evgenia's opinion of PM but she made the very points that you do.
In explaining to Cape why Mrs Blackett needed to be in at the finale at the North Pole in WH. Ransome certainly dismissed Captain Flint from being considered an adult or at least possessing an adult point of view!
