Excellent stuff. Interesting in two other respects; it's from a decade and a half, and a war, after the setting of the AR stories, and the voice, still very middle class, is much more undramatic and less cut glass than in the '30s, and there's a reference to electricity replacing the labour of German POWs, who were repatriated that year.

Unselfconscious old movies are full of little gems. I love them...
